Prom/Event Photography – Monson Photographer
Some very good friends of ours asked me to come by and take a few pictures for prom… I thought I’d share a few with you!

I’ve been getting a lot of business from my website – this is one of them and it was great! She needed pictures done for her yearbook and, of course, needed them ASAP. With the weather being so cold, we were forced to shoot indoors. Her house was beautifully decorated for the holidays, so it worked out great! Only problem was the size of the room, it was kinda small 🙂 – but we made it work! After moving furniture, shooting from the other room, and getting really creative, we got some great Senior shots and some great family pictures too!

This was the year for cool projects and here is another one. I was asked to make copies of pictures for one of my clients, they were really old pictures of her family… cool stuff. One was in perfect condition, one needed a little bit of photoshop, but the last one… the last one was in bad shape. Here’s the before and after… while I’m not going to win any awards with this photoshop job, the client was thrilled and I’m pretty happy with the results too!

A quick note, as I review this post… it’s amazing how varying colors are between photographs, even the ones that have been “corrected”. I will say, that you have to see this piece in person to really appreciate just how great the final product is… Now, the rest of the story: Back in December, I received a call to create a “duplicate” of a picture. I thought, okay, I’ll just scan it in, make a print, and we’re done – simple! Not quite, it wasn’t a picture, rather it was a wood-inlay of a castle in Newark Scotland. That changed...

I enter different contests from time to time, the main one I like to participate in is Boston.com’s RAW competition. They have a nice variety of themes, and you usually have to take the picture in the month of the theme, which makes you get out and take pictures! My favorite one so far was the Scavenger Hunt they did back in February – featuring twenty-eight different items (some with specific instructions) to photograph. One of the professional labs I use is doing a contest right now, and it’s for Baby/Children portraits. I don’t do tons of these, but I do have a few...

I was asked by some local friends to do some photographs for their Canadian passports. The Canadians are quite particular on what they want for passport photos… So, you can’t just go down to CVS or the local town hall and get a passport photo – that just won’t do. You can’t smile, it has to be 50mm x 70mm, must show a neutral expression, yadda, yadda, yadda. I did such a great job for my friends, that another friend (and business customer from my Internet Design Company biz) asked me if I could do her Canadian passport photo… so here it is: Since you...
